February Pack Hike

Update: HELMETS are required for participation in this Scout sanctioned event.
Bring you bikes to get a quick equipment check, complete a short skills course and enjoy ride in the park. This will provide all the requirements for the Bicycle Belt Loop, most of the Pin and some Rank requirements.

- Exit Interstate 17 at Jomax Road and head east.
- Go left on Norterra Parkway about 1.3 miles until the road ends.
- Turn right on North Valley Parkway to the end, about a quarter mile.
- Go left on Copperhead Trail, then take the first left to Melvern Trail. The Fireside clubhouse is on the right.
- On Melvern Trail, take the first right, Desert Vista Trail.
- Follow it to the parking lot.

Bears Den 4, 5 & 8 - Wildlife Experience
Sat, 11/19 at Noon at Leader's home
You won’t want to miss this! Rehabilitated animals and birds, up close and personal. Bring the family, a lawn chair and prepare to be wowed! If you can’t make it to the presentation, please attend the Adobe Mt. Open House over that weekend. Either of these events will help our Bears complete Achievement #5 and hopefully round out their Wildlife Conservation Belt Loop and Pin. Both events are free and are open to the entire family.

This month's meeting we collecting non-perishable food items for donations. In addition, if you have left over Halloween candy you want to donate, we'll take that too! We will also be have a Scout uniform inspection so make sure your Scout has all their uniform pieces and are looking sharp.

Wed, 10/12 at the Phoenix Art Museum.
Wednesdays are FREE, and Ms. Yvonne has made arrangements for us to have a Docent lead tour, specifically covering Myths and Fables. Several of us are taking the 5:20 PM light rail to the museum. Please talk among yourselves on car-pooling to/from the Montebello and 19th Ave. Station (map).
Please wear your complete Class A uniforms and be on your best behavior, since we will be in full view of the public eye!
You can purchase Light Rail tickets at the grocery stores (click here to search for one near you), or you can use the kiosk ticket centers at the station. If you do the latter, you will need change and/or small bills ($1, $5) to purchase the inexpensive tickets.
